The Springfield Mavericks Baseball Club has been established to provide a competitive, high-quality baseball experience for homeschool and private school youth ages 10-under in southwest Missouri.

Initially the Mavericks are offering opportunities in the 9-Under and 10-Under age groups (other age groups based on interest and coaches). The player’s age for next season is that as of May 1, 2011.  Since we are a competitive program and to maximize playing time, our teams will have a maximum of 10 players on the roster. Therefore, we will be having team tryouts on the dates listed below.

Weekly practices will take place at Glendale Christian Church on Blackman Road. Our schedule will run from April until July and contain approximately 25-35 games. All of our games, excluding the state tournament, will be local.

The Springfield Mavericks Volleyball Club has been established to offer a competitive outlet for homeschool athletes participating in the sport of volleyball. The club will initially field teams at the high school (grades 9-12) and junior high (grades 6-8) level.

Our volleyball instruction through our coaching experience is our point of difference with similar organizations. Led by former Drury University standout Krystal (Glessner) Allen, our club believes in an instructional based program that emphasizes the fundamentals while showcasing talent to college recruiters. Allen's experience as a club coach in the spring for the Springfield Juniors and her connections to collegiate and club coaches throughout the area are also advantages to joining the Springfield Mavericks Volleyball Club

Allen was a four-year letterwinner at Drury, playing outside, middle and right side hitter in addition to duties at the Libero position. She captained the Panthers her senior season. Prior to Drury, Krystal played four years at Republic High, earning all-district honors as a senior. A two-sport standout, she was also tabbed all-state in basketball as a senior. Allen played for US Olympian Lori Endicott-Vandersnick in club play for the Springfield Juniors as a senior.

Our schedule will consist of local matches against other homeschool organizations and tournaments from August to October.

Operation Recreation teaches weekly physical education and health classes for homeschool students ages 3 to 14.  Our classes provide structured physical activity for students that build a foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle in the future.  Using games, activities, and music, students develop their physical abilities in all areas of fitness—strength, flexibility, aerobic fitness, and balance.  The weekly lessons teach students about nutrition, safety, body systems, and more at a developmentally appropriate level.  We want all students to have fun being active in a non-competitive atmosphere.

We currently teach classes on Monday afternoons in Springfield starting at 1:00 pm.  Classes are held at the Park Avenue Christian School (2850 N. Park Avenue, Springfield, MO 65803-1688).  The monthly tuition cost for participating is based on the number of children enrolled per family.

Please visit our website or Facebook page, email, or give us a call to learn more about how this program can benefit your family
